Short on time but want a tall ship experience, then try a Late Afternoon Sail! This short 2 hour experience offers a gentle sail from Russell to Opua. Light finger food is included and a cash bar is available. Transport to and from Paihia/Russell is included.
The Late Afternoon sail is an excellent option for visitors wanting something to do before dinner. Step on board Northland’s iconic tall ship for a relaxing sail in the inner Bay.

Session Length
We sail daily from Easter, depending on demand (excluding Christmas Day). We depart from Russell at 4 pm (Paihia from 3.30apm) and return to Paihia at 6 pm by coach (Russell at 6.30pm). The trip is approximately 2 hours in duration. This product is available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Guidelines:
This experience is suitable for anyone! Adults and children will both enjoy this experience!
Numbers:
The ship can take a maximum of 47 people but usually sails with an average of 25 to 35 people. The price quoted is for one adult.
Spectators:
Not suitable for spectators.
Weather:
This experience is occasionally affected by the weather. We will cancel the sailing trip and reschedule for a later date, should your safety be compromised due to adverse weather conditions, or your enjoyment on the day is likely to be drastically affected due to adverse weather conditions.
Other Info:
The ship is operated by a not-for-profit Charitable Trust and profits raised from our trips go towards supporting youth development voayges for Northland youth over winter.
