On the day of your kayaking adventure we will pick you up from your accommodation in the Tauranga area. We will then drive to where you will be heading off for your kayak adventure.

You will receive a full safety briefing and set of instructions before being set up in your kayak. Then for two hours you will kayak around Tauranga Harbour, exploring the beauty of the coastline and surrounds. You will get to see abundant bird and ocean life. If you are lucky you will even see dolphins or orca!

Your guide will take you paddling across the crystal clear waters of the harbour and skirting along the coastline of Matakana Island. You will observe stingray sunning themselves in the shallows and watch the endangered New Zealand dotterel scurry along the golden sandy beaches.

You will paddle out of the harbour entrance, under the shadow of Mount Maunganui and over to Motatau Island, a place that is regularly visited by penguins and seals.

During your kayaking adventure you will also hear the legend of Mauao (Mount Maunganui) and hear other stories and myths that belong to the area.

After two hours we will return to the start point and you will be taken back to your accommodation.
