Kayaking and bushwalking – this is the ultimate adventure for outdoor enthusiasts! It’s a great way to see the beautiful Tauranga Harbour, Bowentown and the mystic Kaimai Ranges. You’ll get to see an abundance of local wildlife and even add a swim to the equation, should you so desire!

On the day of your adventure we will pick you up from your accommodation in the Tauranga area and take you on a 45 minute drive through the famous mural town of Katikati to the Pohutukawa (New Zealand Christmas tree) fringed coast of Kauri Point.

When you arrive you will be given a full safety briefing and instructions before being set up with your kayak. We will begin with a leisurely paddle across the beautiful Tauranga Harbour over to Bowentown, taking in views of the mystical Kaimai Ranges along the way.

While you are kayaking you will explore the crystal clear waters off the coast of Matakana Island. This area is rich in history and abundant in bird and sea life. You might see dolphins, stingray or even orca!

We land the kayaks on the sandy golden beaches of Anzac Bay. From here you have the choice to walk up to a Maori Pa site. This site is rich in history and offers outstanding views of the area. Alternatively you can opt for a swim in the safe waters of Anzac or Shelly Bay.

You will then paddle back to the departure point and we will transport you to your accommodation in Tauranga.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

We will pick you up from your accommodation in the Tauranga area.

Session Length

We operate seven days a week, weather permitting, excluding the Christmas and Easter public holidays. Bookings are essential and are subject to availability. You will be picked up at around 8am. This is a half-day adventure.

Guidelines:

You must be five years of age or older to participate in this experience.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. There will be a minimum of two and a maximum of 10 people in the group.

Spectators:

Not suitable for spectators.

Weather:

This experience may be affected by the weather. In the case of poor weather conditions we may need to reschedule your experience for a later date.

You will be required to sign a waiver on the day.
