Perfect for those that wish to experience the longest jet boat ride available in the region. This journey offers you 3 full hours of classic jet boat action as your expert driver negotiates the shifting shallow braided channels of the magnificent glacier-fed Dart River.

From the comfort of our fully equipped jet boats, you’ll discover the spectacular beauty that makes up the unforgettable Dart River scenery, as well as have the option of a short walk to hidden rock pools deep in Mount Aspiring National Park.

Venue:

Glenorchy, 45 kms by lakeside highway north of Queenstown.

Session Length

The Safari takes 5-6 hours, with hotel pickups at 8am and 12pm daily. Coach transfer is approximately 1 hour. The Safari takes three hours from Glenorchy. On the morning departure, an additional 30 mins is allowed in Glenorchy for customers to buy lunch before departing for Queenstown.

Guidelines:

Suitable for all ages three years and over. Reasonable mobility makes it a more enjoyable day, though special arrangements can be made so that the physically disadvantaged can enjoy some parts of this wilderness experience.

Numbers:

Jetboat capacity varies from 10-seater to 15-seater models, with one driver/guide per boat. Our 4WD coaches for the backroad journey are 21-seaters and contain PA systems so all can enjoy the guide commentary. During the forest walk there is 1 guide to up to 21 passengers.

The Safaris operates in a wilderness area with variable river, road and weather conditions, and the trip may be altered to ensure safety and comfort at all times.

The Safaris are a Qualmark endorsed activity and Green Globe 21 affiliated. Jetboat drivers are company trained for 120 hours and fully comply with all statutory requirements.
