Dolphin and whale watching in Auckland's Hauraki Gulf - you'll be amazed by what is considered to be one of the most biologically and geographically diverse marine parks in the world! There have been 22 species of marine mammal identified in the gulf so come and see what this wonderland offers.
Twenty-two different species - that's almost one third of the entire world's population of marine mammal species! With six years of continued scientific programs undertaken on board, our crew are of New Zealand's most experienced and knowledgeable. During your dolphin and whale watching safari you will experience the gulf from the most comfortable and stable whale-watching vessel in New Zealand. Our luxury high-speed catamaran is designed specifically for the sea conditions of this unique area.
Every cruise safari is different but all include:
- Dolphin viewing on over 90% of trips and whale viewing on 75%
- Commentary on the culture and history of Auckland's Hauraki Gulf
- A fully licensed bar with snacks and drinks available for purchase
During your dolphin and whale watching safari you may be spellbound by the spectacle of a feeding frenzy involving sea birds, whales and dolphins, or see small pods of dolphins playing around the boat. Wherever the most exciting whale and dolphin activity is, we aim to find it. We will also show you some of the most significant cultural and historical parts of this amazing maritime park!

Session Length
We operate seven days a week. Bookings are essential and are subject to availability. Trips depart at 8.30am and 1.30pm from October 1 - April 30, and at 12.30pm May 1 – September 30. The duration of your experience will be 4.5 hours.

This is an adventure activity and is not recommended for pregnant women or people with certain medical conditions. Children's prices are available - please refer to product code SLZ512.
Numbers:
The price quoted is for one person. The boat seats up to 100 passengers.
Spectators:
Not suitable for spectators.
Weather:
This experience may be affected by the weather. In the case of extreme weather conditions we will reschedule your experience for a later date. We will contact you if your trip is to be cancelled.

While we missed out on seeing any whales we did get to see a small pod of dolphins and I have to say that made the whole experience worth it. It was an enjoyable afternoon and a good choice for a work outing.
