Scenic rafting trip on a beautiful river, a riverside Lodge in a spectacular location, farm style meals, a cosy bar. This is the central North Island of New Zealand. A truly unique rural wilderness experience.

The scenic rafting experience includes one activity, a scenic rafting trip on the beautiful Rangitikei River, meals, and two nights accommodation in en-suited rooms at River Valley Lodge.

You arrive the first evening for dinner at 7.00pm. After a relaxing evening retire to your riverside room. Breakfast at 8.30am the next morning, then rafting briefing at 9.00. You are fully briefed, equipped with river gear and then set off on a relaxing 13 km river trip. This journey will take you through cliff-lined gorges, over crystal clear pools and down sparkling small rapids. Half way down, a picnic lunch is served on the river bank.

Vehicle transport and a change of clothes awaits at the other end to take you back to the Lodge.

Arrive back at the Lodge by 4.00pm for pre dinner refreshments, (not included), and dinner.

Depart the next morning after breakfast.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Taihape, Central North Island.

Session Length

2 nights and 1 full day. Season is October to April inclusive.

Guidelines:

No maximum age, but a minimum age of 5 years. To fully enjoy the day participants want to be moderately agile.

Numbers:

Group size rafting is between 3 and 7, in each raft, with group size seldom exceeding 12.

Weather:

Rafting is weather dependent. Rafting may be cancelled if the river is too high or too low.

You are required to sign a waiver that specifies you have understood the briefing, are aware of the inherent risks in the activity, and have informed the guides of any medical problems that you may have that would effect your, or others, safety.
