Learn to fly in Auckland, NZ! It's the dream of every wannabe pilot or aviation enthusiast - soaring high in the sky, with help and encouragement from your instructor. Learn the skills needed to fly a Grumman or Cessna while enjoying the sights! 30 minutes of you in control - what an experience!
This is your opportunity to experience the thrill and excitement of flying an aircraft for the first time!
When you arrive at the airfield your instructor will give you a pre-flight briefing, explaining the aircraft controls and any safety procedures. You will be flying in either an American Grumman or a Cessna 152 aircraft. Your briefing will take 10-15 minutes, after which your flight begins!
Your trial introductory flight involves flying the aircraft with the assistance of a qualified instructor, who will be sitting by your side. The flight itself will take 25-30 minutes. Experience the exhilaration of taking the controls and flying the aircraft yourself!
After landing you might want to relax in the comfort of our club bar, buy a meal, and watch the planes go by.
Max participant weight is 110kg.
This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
Venue:
Ardmore Airfield, Auckland.
Session Length
This experience is available seven days a week, from 8am - 5pm. Bookings are essential and are subject to availability. The duration of your flight will be approximately 25-30 minutes.
Guidelines:
There is a maximum weight limit of 110kg. Participants should not have any major heart conditions. There are no age restrictions however you should be tall enough to reach the pedals of the plane. Bring a camera and money for lunch or drinks if you require.
Numbers:
The price quoted is for one person. You will be one-on-one with your instructor during your flight.
Spectators:
Spectators are welcome. There is a large viewing deck and refreshments available for purchase. Four-seater planes are available, should you wish to take spectators in the air, however this is at an additional cost. Please contact the supplier to inquire.
Weather:
This experience may be affected by the weather. In the case of low cloud, high winds or heavy rain you should check in with our flight desk before leaving home. Your flight will be rescheduled if need be.

It was a fantastic experience. At the beginning when I was in control of take off I was scared to death! But I had trust in my instructor who was very professional. Now that the experience is over it's such a great feeling to have done it. After flying in such a small plane and being in control of the airplane, I'll never be scared to fly in an airline plane again!

It was very exciting and far better that I had imagined it would be. I actually got to fly the plane. I liked it when the pilot told me he could fix any mistake I might make when flying, except jumping on the brakes when we came into land!
