If you love the combination of speed and sailing, then this is for you! Experience blo-karting and you'll have the thrill of your life! Feel the wind filling your sails as you low-ride our blo-karts down the famous golden sands of 90 Mile Beach in New Zealand's spectacular Northland!

You and your friend will begin your blo-karting experience at Ahipara in New Zealand's Northland. We begin by discussing safety precautions. We then proceed down to 90 Mile Beach, which is only 2 minutes away. The blo-karts are assembled and you are given instruction on what to do and what not to do.

Now you're ready to climb in – settle in a semi-layback position. Fasten your seatbelt and let the blo-kart rip down the beach! Get an adrenalin charge when you peak on two wheels and perform controlled slides as you turn. This is an exhilarating and thrilling ride to give you an adrenalin rush you will remember!

You experience will last for one hour. After experiencing the ultimate in blo-karting, we head back to Ahipara.

Venue:

Ahipara – 90 Mile Beach, Northland.

Session Length

We are open 7 days a week, all year round. The experience is determined by the wind (10 – 20 knots is required) and at least 3–4 hours before or after high tides. The experience is 1 hour in duration. Bookings are essential so we can confirm conditions and optimum times for the blo-kart experience.

Guidelines:

Suitable for anyone aged 8 – 80 years of age. Lighter winds are more suited for children as it makes the experience more enjoyable. No licences are required. Blo-karts are single seaters. We have four karts, which can be shared by a group. Bookings are subject to tides and availability on the day.

Numbers:

We operate with a minimum of two people. We have four blo-karts available. You will have one or two instructors with you on the day depending on the size of the group. The price quoted is for two people.

Spectators:

Spectators, family and friends are welcome to watch your experience at 90 Mile Beach. They will be in close proximity to the blo-karting at all times. Please note, there are no facilities at the beach.

Weather:

Blo-karting may need to be rescheduled for safety reasons in extreme weather due to strong wind and rain. Please ring to confirm your experience the day before and in the event of extreme conditions we will reschedule your booking.

Other Info:

You will be required to sign a waiver form before your blo-karting experience. The blo-karts are micro land yachts. They require at least 10–20 knots of wind. A steering handle and sail rope operates them and they can reach speeds of up to 50 mph.
