Ever wanted to fly? Well here’s your chance. If you are a thrill seeking adrenalin junkie, with a need for speed, then try rocketing down the Mokai Canyon, strapped in a cocoon as you hurtle towards the Rangitikei River on the world’s largest, most extreme flying fox.

Once you reach us, you will have a few minutes to get used to the sheer magnificence of the canyon, and to take as look at the height and length of the flying fox. We will then sign you up, strap you in and let you take flight! Afterwards enjoy a hot coffee in the café and receive your certificate to show off to all your friends and also a repeat flying fox ticket to come and try the activity again as once is never enough!

This experience voucher is valid for six months from date of purchase.

Venue:

Five minutes south of Taihape.

Session Length

Allow approximately half an hour to complete. From the first stage of registration then on to the walk up to the ride. The flying fox will be operating every day that we are open (everyday except Christmas Day).

Guidelines:

Rider's guidelines can from time to time be altered slightly. To do a flying fox you have to be 10-12 years with a guardian or 13 years and up by yourself, over 1.2 metres in height and over 38 kgs.

Numbers:

There is no maximum/minimum limit to the numbers in a group. Each rider is personally instructed by trained staff when they are about to do their ride.

Weather:

The Flying fox is an activity for all weather, however it is much more enjoyable when fine, sunny and warm! If the weather is cold and wet, please prepare yourselves by bringing warm, waterproof clothing.

Other Info:

All riders are required to complete a wavier form before they complete their activity. Minors may require a parent or guardians signature.
